Certification Options & Professional Development

Our training programs offer certification that aligns with state doula requirements, enabling you to serve families receiving Medi-Cal. Upon completion, you’ll be qualified to provide compassionate, professional care to underserved communities. We also offer ongoing professional development through workshops, webinars, and resources to keep your skills up-to-date and ensure you provide the highest quality care.

Contracting With Managed Care Programs (MCPs)

At The Doula Help Desk, we support doulas in navigating the process of contracting with Managed Care Programs (MCPs), enabling them to provide services to families with insurance coverage, including Medi-Cal. Partnering with MCPs opens doors to steady referrals and reimbursement opportunities, making your services more accessible to families in need.

Managed Care Programs (MCPs) are health insurance plans that coordinate care for their members. MCPs often include Medi-Cal, which provides coverage for low-income families. Doulas can work with these programs to offer their services as part of the care plan, ensuring families receive the support they need during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Doulas can collaborate with MCPs to provide services covered under these plans, helping families access care at no additional cost. This includes prenatal and  birth support, postpartum care, and lactation consultation. Contracting with MCPs ensures that doulas are recognized within the healthcare system and can receive insurance reimbursement for their services.
